The most expensive leaks are the ones you cannot see. Water running inside a wall cavity, under a slab or through an underground service can do months of damage to timber, plaster and foundations before anything visible appears.
Signs you have a hidden leak
- A water bill that jumps with no change in how much you are using
- The sound of running water when every tap is off
- Damp patches, staining or bubbling paint on walls or ceilings
- A musty smell in one particular room or cupboard
- A patch of lawn that stays green and soft through dry weather
- Cracking in tiles or plaster that keeps getting worse
A quick test: turn every tap and water-using appliance off, then check the water meter. If the dial is still moving, water is going somewhere it should not be.
How we locate it
We isolate sections of the plumbing to narrow down which line is losing water, then pinpoint the leak using acoustic listening equipment, pressure testing and drain cameras where the leak is in a waste line. That means we open up one targeted spot rather than chasing the leak through your floor or walls.
For insurance purposes we can document what was found and where, which most insurers will ask for.
